Big Bowls Weekend

Babbacombe Bowling Club is pleased to be participating in this year’s Big Bowls Weekend – a national campaign to give people the opportunity to have a go at bowls for free.
The club will be open to the public on Friday 23rd, Saturday 24th and Monday 26th May from 10am to 1pm.
It’s a great opportunity for individuals, friends, families and work colleagues to get together and try a new sport in the great outdoors.
Our dedicated green stewards will be on hand to help and all the basic bowls equipment will be provided.
No need to book, just turn up and have a go for free.
Please note – to play on the green, participants will need to wear flat soled shoes.

Club Short Mat Pairs Competition

We have a wining team!
Alan and Helen Pallet – aka Stingers – are the Winners of the 2024-2025 Club Short Mat Pairs Competition. This father and daughter team proved to be a team that was hard to beat, yet gracious in their wins and losses.
They were presented with their Cups at a lunch at the Club today.
Peter and Marilyn Moodie – aka Torbay Tigers – are the runners up.  Even though they didn’t win the coveted cups, this husband and wife team are still happily married and looking forward to the next season!
Without the other Teams – aka Crazy Waiters, The Grumpies, New Kids on the Block, Pointless, The Puffins, AND Superduds – this competition wouldn’t have been possible or as much fun!
Thank you to everyone and see you, and hopefully some new teams, in October!
Best Wishes
Marilyn and Peter Moodie, Short Mat Pairs Organisers
